Fun With Florida Geography

October 21, 2014

Fourth graders at WDE created Florida cookies while studying Florida geography. The students also labeled important cities, rivers, regions, surrounding states and bodies of water with icing and candy. After the cookie maps were finished, they enjoyed taking a bite out of Florida!

Mrs. Dawkins' and Mrs. Quinley's students could hardly contain their excitement when the Dugas Family Foundation purchased enough books from the book fair to donate one to every student at WDE.  A very big thank you goes out this very generous and thoughtful organization!

Class Picture Day

October 21, 2014

Friday, October 24 will be Class Picture/Make-up Picture Day

If your child was not here on the first picture day,  they will need to have their picture taken on this day.  If you do not like the proof that you received from the first picture day, your child can do a redo because these pictures are the ones going in the yearbook.

ALL STUDENTS will have their picture taken for the Class Group Picture.

Class Group Pictures (NOT individual make-up/redo pictures) are on a pre pay basis.  If you want a class group picture, please turn in your money no later than the morning of picture day!

The program will consists of an after school program for students attending these schools.

Uniform Purchase Dates

June 18, 2014

There will be opportunities throughout the summer for you to view and purchase uniform shirts. We have asked vendors to be available and on campus during the dates listed below for parents to purchase approved shirts.

June 23rd 10;00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

July 14th 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

August 4th 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Other purchasing opportunities will be arranged throughout the year. Several local businesses such as Wal-Mart have also expressed interest in making these shirts available.

Parents: We apologize for the summer reading packets being short a few pages! The packets that were sent home only have report pages for books 1-6. For students who want to qualify for the Summer Reading Hall of Fame (reading and completing a report on TEN grade level appropriate books) may choose from the following options for book reports 7,8,9, and 10: 1. pick up a new, complete packet fro...m the front office at WDE, 2. read four of the summer reading books that you received in the blue backpacks and use four activities from the packets that came along with those books. Turn those in along with the original 6 book report forms that were sent home, OR 3. read four books, write the title, author, and your favorite part of the book and why on paper, and turn those in along with the original 6 book report forms that were sent home. Happy Summer Reading!!!!
