West DeFuniak 5th grade students have been combining scientific knowledge with technology this week by creating their own PowerPoint presentations on planetary objects in our solar system. Using their science textbooks, library books, and approved research materials, students gathered key facts and images to build a detailed 12-slide presentation.
Each presentation includes photographs, important information, and creative visual effects. The goal of this project is twofold: to help students learn and teach their peers about the planets, and to provide an opportunity to develop real-world technology and communication skills. Students are practicing how to organize information, explain complex ideas clearly, and present confidently to an audience.
This engaging project has sparked curiosity in the classroom as students explore what makes each planet unique—from extreme temperatures to unusual moons and atmospheric features. We are proud of their hard work and look forward to seeing their final presentations come to life.
