First Grade students at WDE love “hands on” reading activities! These students used finger flashlights and whisper phones to read decodable reading passages. They built words that contained the weekly phonics skills using letter cubes and Elkonin boxes. They also blended words using magnetic wands. Hands-on activities always make learning fun.
