Fourth grade students at West DeFuniak Elementary have been studying the different types of energy. They have learned about each form of energy and how it can transfer into another form of energy. One form of energy they experimented with was thermal energy, which refers to how hot or cold an object is. Before the experiment, students researched materials that make good insulators. As they did the experiment, students were able to put what they read into practice by seeing which material kept the water the hottest inside the water bottle. Students were excited to make a hypothesis and test their theory!
