WDE's 2024-2025 "Teacher of the Year" is Mrs. Olivia Garrett!
A good teacher is like a candle, it consumes itself to light the way for others. One of our bright lights at West DeFuniak Elementary has been selected by her peers as WDE’s 2024-2025 “Teacher of the Year”. Mrs. Olivia Garrett, a 12-year veteran 5th grade teacher, is a shining example of a teacher leader and motivator. Her creativity and innovation in teaching are inspiring as she makes a daily positive impact on her coworkers and students. Mrs. Garrett is extremely organized and focused on continuously learning and developing best practices to manage routine activities both efficiently and effectively. She sets high expectations for all students and strives to meet goals.
