Mrs. Smith and Ms. Adkinson's fourth grade students have been learning about line plots, a visual way to represent data values. Teachers facilitated a Real-World Connection wherein students collected data on the students’ different shoe sizes; then students used this data set to create a class line plot. Using the data, students determined the median, mode, and range of the different shoe sizes. Based on the images here, these WDE 4th graders enjoyed their learning experience and understand how to collect data and create graphs.
AVID WICOR strategies are utilized schoolwide at WDE. WICOR stands for Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading. This week Mrs. Smith and Ms. Adkinson’s students worked collaboratively and used inquiry to collect, organize, and respond to their data.
