Kids Heart Challenge

In physical education classes this month, students are completing the Kids Heart Challenge with the American Heart Association. Students are learning about the heart and circulatory systems and their functions in the body. One of the lessons happening this month involves students jumping rope and measuring their heart rates, comparing the rates before and after jumping rope. In a different lesson, students listen to their hearts beating with stethoscopes following running exercises.

With the Kids Heart Challenge, students are receiving a Real-World application that showcases the benefits of maintaining good health throughout their entire lives.
