Every student in Ms. Campbell’s fourth grade class is collaborating with a partner to determine whether South America or Australia is the better continent in which to swim. In this project-based learning experience, students are partnered with a buddy to collaborate and write an outstanding fourth-grade argumentative essay. Students make a research-based claim and meet with their teacher daily to receive individualized feedback to become stronger writers. As an added challenge, students are learning and developing their typing skills to produce their final typed projects.
Students are deeply engaged in their learning and are enjoying collaborating with a friend to create a powerful, moving argument. Ms. Campbell’s use of 𝗔𝗩𝗜𝗗 strategies such as 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗶𝗻𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝘆, and 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 facilitates such a positive learning environment.
