One of the core strategies within 𝗔𝗩𝗜𝗗 is building 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆, the level of trust and degree of safety among members of a group. Each day teachers at WDE work to develop authentic relationships and engage students in motivational, energetic activities that promote positive community.
In Mr. Hight’s Kindergarten music class this week, he used AVID best practices to teach teamwork and rhythm counting by organizing students into different instrument groups that maximize the diversity and contributions of each learner. These fun and focused learning experiences help to create an environment that establishes a safe and exciting learning community.
