Fourth grade students at WDE had an awesome time at Biophilia this week. They were able to hold interesting animals and explore nature. Students also learned about the longleaf pine ecosystem and ways to make our planet a better place.

Friday was a day of celebration of students who were A-B Honor Roll for 3 nine weeks at WMS.  Not only was it a day where Principal Jason Campbell and AP Scott Hulion grilled for the students but they were able to have some well needed, deserved, and earned free play and game time!  Warriors believe that those who work hard should also Play Hard!  Superintendent Hughes stopped in and checked on some on site construction and the Agriculture Class who showed off their tomatoes, peppers, and rabbits!  Warriors are No Exception to the fact that EPIC is what EPIC Does!  #23daystogo

What an amazing day of learning, test preparation, collaboration of substitutes, SRD Lindsay Whatmough reading to students and supporting teachers, teachers engaged in effective planning, and school leaders organizing for testing observed at Mossy Head School! This level of activity on  a daily basis would be hard for those who are not in the profession of educating students, but for the WCSD, we call it EPIC!  It’s the WAY!  Not easy, slow, boring, or always fun…….Just EPIC!

Today, Walton County School District hosted the Panhandle Area Educational Consortium (PAEC) Board of Director’s Meeting at the Carlene H. Anderson Training Center. At this meeting, both Superintendent Hughes and Washington County School District Superintendent, Mr. Joe Taylor, wore purple in support of military children for their strength and sacrifice.

This special recognition was established by former Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger in 1986 to honor the important role children play in contributing to the strength of military families. The color purple was chosen because it symbolizes all branches of the military, as it is the combination of Army green, Coast Guard blue, Air Force blue, Marine Corps red, and Navy blue.

FMS Positivity Posters

April 19, 2021

The Freeport Middle School Art Department created Positivity Posters for our FMS community of students and staff.  Students hung the watercolor paintings with positive messages in each hallway.  We hope these messages keep you all in a positive place for the rest of the school year.  Keep up the good work students!!
