This past Friday, 5/7/21 was National School Lunch Hero Day. It was a great day at Paxton. The elementary students made cards, while the Pre-K provided treat bags and flowers for the Lunchroom Staff. Paxton PTO also made a yard sign to display in front of the school.
Each year, Walton Middle School hosts a lofty reading challenge. This year, ninety-nine Warriors met the Warrior Strong Reading Challenge’s requirements, earning a field trip to Dave and Buster’s. On Friday, April 30th, the fun arcade at Pier Park in Panama City Beach shut down to everyone except these Warriors. All students who attended went home last Friday with armloads of loot. We are so proud of these students for picking up books and crushing goals.
West DeFuniak First Graders Visit Emerald Coast Zoo
On Friday April 30th, the First Graders of West DeFuniak Elementary visited the Emerald Coast Zoo in Crestview. These students spent the day learning about a variety of wildlife found right here in our area and from around the world! This hands-on adventure has left these students excited to learn more about the world around them, as well as inspiring them to appreciate and take care of our environment!

No time for hibernation for the VRB Bears in 5th Grade! They were preparing like there is “No Tomorrow” for their FSA Assessments coming up. Teachers were operating Jeopardy Board, Algebraic Expressions were challenging the minds of students who were ALL working in groups to make sure “No Bears” would be left behind or alone when it comes to being prepared, ready, and yes Simply EPIC! What a Fifth Grade Team of teachers and support staff making it happen as the Superintendent made an unannounced visit to the largest elementary school in the WCSD! “Let’s Go Bears, You Got This!”

Teacher Appreciation and ESP Recognition Week really looked like Student Success Week at Maude Saunders Elementary School. Science Boot Camp was challenging the great minds of Fifth Grade Students like never before. Excitement with a major mindset of “Get it Done” permeated each group, student, teacher, and classroom as the Superintendent made an unannounced visit! How blessed we are to be in the WCSD. EPIC is simply the way things happen on a daily basis! One would not believe here is only 19 days to go. We are “Having Schools as Usual”! Hanging on and Gaining on!
Walton High School teachers want to be sure our students know how much they are loved and reminded of how hard they have worked this year. As students came ack to school on Monday, our goal was to make them smile a little bigger and feel confident knowing they have a huge support system behind them when they see notes from their teachers lining Braves Blvd. Every Walton High School student has a note of encouragement from someone in the building.
