Freeport High School has been awarded an A+ school rating from the Florida Department of Education. Freeport High School was the only Walton County High School to receive an A+ rating. Congratulations to our Staff, Students, Parents and the Freeport Community!

Congrats to the SWHS Competition Cheerleading Team for winning 1st place at the UCA Southern Championship in Birmingham this past weekend and winning a bid to the National High School Cheerleading Championship. They are the first team in Walton County to win a bid to NHSCC, the most prestigious cheerleading championship in the country. It is held at the Walt Disney World® Resort and will be televised on ESPN & ESPN2 to over 100 million homes and 32 countries on Feb 7 & 8, 2015. Way to go, girls!

Congratulations Ms. Simmons

Ms. Simmons started driving a WCSD School Bus on December 4, 1968. After 46 years of loyal service to the Walton County School District, Ms. Simmons will step off of her bus the last time on December 19, 2014, and step into the world of retirement.  Congratulations Ms. Simmons for a job well done.

Congratulations to the South Walton High School Football Team.  In addition to winning the District Championship, they have earned the  Class 1A Team Academic Championship for the State of Florida!

Freeport Middle School held their annual Science Fair during the weeks of November 10th-21st. Our theme this year was Science Fair Inventions. The Science students researched, planned, and conducted experiments during the month of October. Grades 5th-8th all participated in this years' Science Fair expo. Congratulations to the following FMS Science Fair Winners.

1st place: Ryley Curry, 7th grade

2nd place: Brooke Mclean, 5th grade

3rd place: Josh Godfrey & Garren Acosta, 8th grade

Dr. Alexis Tibbetts and Superintendent Carlene Anderson congratulated Ally Woodard and Logan Lawrence for winning awards at the Walton County School District's Science Fair.  Ally's project "HVAC Filter Effect on Air Particles" won first place in the Environmental Division and the Superintendent's Award for the best overall project in the Science Fair.  Logan's project "How Temperature Affects Sugar in Bananas" won second place in the Biological Division.  Congratulations to SWHS science students and teachers!
