WCSD Career and Technical Education (CTE) instructors are making use of their summer by learning how to develop Advisory Boards for their programs June 6-8, 2017.  Advisory Boards are developed for each CTE program to assist the instructor with ensuring student preparation for the workforce or college. Advisory Boards consist of area business leaders that possess knowledge specific to the career cluster for the CTE program.  Through this training participants learned protocols to set up the required Advisory Board meetings twice a year including forms, letters and agenda items.  Participants also benefited from a session explaining CareerSource and it's provided services.

If you think you might be interested in becoming involved in an Advisory Board for Walton County School District, please contact Crystal Appel at 892-1100, Ext: 1319 or Donna Honish 892-1100, Ext: 1358 for additional information.

Special thanks to Emerald Coast Technical College IT Instructor, Ms. Harrison for her expertise on Advisory Boards and to Emerald Coast Technical College for use of their facilities.
