Maude Saunders second graders were transformed into field scientists today as they headed down the school’s nature trail. Once they reached the outdoor classroom, they learned how to use their senses to discover the wonders of nature. FHS Advanced Manufacturing Technology Program Students Earn Certified Production Technician Certifications

Picture on Left - Freeport High School’s Gabriel Garrett excelled in his Automation and Production Tech class to obtain his Certified Production Technician Certification, or CPT, in record time. He was the first freshman to complete the CPT. This achievement is even more significant due to the fact that Gabriel has a visual impairment and utilized adaptive technology during all aspects of the curriculum. After graduation in 2020 Gabriel wants to pursue a degree in some field of engineering. Pictured with instructor, Ted Missildine.
Picture on Top Right - Scott Howard, a senior in the manufacturing and pre-engineering academy at Freeport High School, has earned his Certified Production Technician certificate. Scott says " I want to pursue a career in the automotive field. The CPT skills I have learned will continue to help me in problem solving and maintenance as I move into my future career." Picture on Bottom Right - Megan Altman (left) and Emily Phillips, both sophomores at Freeport High School, have completed their Manufacturing Skill Standards Council Certified Production Technician certification. Megan was the first female to finish the CPT, followed closely by her friend and classmate Emily, at FHS. Both Megan and Emily hope to continue their future education in manufacturing and engineering.

Freeport Schools Honor Veterans

The Freeport schools combined efforts to honor local veterans and active service members on Thursday, November 9th in the FMS gym. Over 900 people including students, teachers, and community members were on hand to witness what could only be described as true patriotism exhibited by all who were in attendance. It took several months of planning and preparation to make this event happen and the efforts did not go unnoticed. MHS Honors Veterans
November 13, 2017
Students, teachers, parents, and staff joined together on November 9th to honor those who are serving or who have served in our armed forces during a Veteran's Day Program. The Headliner's performed patriotic songs to honor our Veterans. MHS students had the privilege of listening to Lt. Colonel Patton “Spike” Causey tell about his service in the military. It was a wonderful celebration honoring our Veterans. MHS says THANK YOU to all Veterans for your service!

FMS Teacher Receives St. Joe Community Foundation Grant

Congratulations to 5th grade Freeport Middle School teacher Ms. Carroll for being awarded a $9,600 grant to be used to purchase laptop computers for her science classroom. Ms Britton's 5th Grade at ECMS Honors Veterans

Ms. Nancy Britton’s 5th grade class at ECMS paid special tribute to Veterans on Wednesday, November 8th, 2017. Students were asked to research any veteran from the present or past and then to share their reports to classmates. Students asked parents, grandparents and family members to visit their classroom and share their military experiences.
