Second graders at Butler Elementary were excited to learn about the weather when they were recently visited by Meteorologist Chris Smith from WJHG, Channel 7 News. The students enjoyed learning about weather phenomena from a real expert! Submitted by Tammy Smith.
MSE Student Recognized for her School Safety Efforts

WMS Student Voices Matter

On Friday, March 2, Mr. Dennie Smith's eighth grade AVID students thoughtfully and respectfully voiced their opinions about controversial, culturally relevant topics through a Philosophical Chairs activity. Not only did students develop and articulate their own arguments, but they also facilitated the discussion themselves with only minimal guidance from Mr. Smith. Students walked away from the experience with a firm understanding that their opinions and those of others matter--and can thereby be used to meaningfully impact change in today's world. VRB Supports Change for Children by Raising $1485.58

Students at Butler Elementary School recently pulled together to raise $1485.58 during our recent “Change For Children” fundraising drive.
