Last week, students celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday and Read Across America. Elementary students dressed up, had Dr. Seuss birthday cake, read books, and were read to by high school students. Not only did high school students read to the younger students, they also got to have their own silent reading time. Way to show the importance of reading, Bobcats! Submitted by Kalli McMillan

Yee-haw Y'all!  Bay Elementary hosted 40 families on Tuesday, March 5th for their annual "Kindergarten Round-up."  This year was extra special because it's the last year Bay Elementary will host such an event as the school prepares to move to Dune Lake Elementary in August 2019.  South-end families were invited to the “round-up" to register their student for Dune Lakes Elementary School, tour a “typical classroom,” meet the BES Kindergarten Team and receive information on ways to prepare their child for Kindergarten.  Bay Elementary Principal, soon-to-be Dune Lakes Elementary Principal, Meredith Spence led the evening by welcoming families and sharing renderings and details of the new facility with eager parents - PLUS – the new logo and mascot were revealed!  Bay Elementary is proud to become a Dune Lakes Elementary Sandpiper!

South-end families can register their Kindergarten student through March 15th during regular school hours at Bay Elementary School, 118 Gilmore Road, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459.  Packets are available at the front office and any registration questions should be directed to Julie Mason, [email protected].
