This past weekend, Walton High's Anchor Club earned 1st place in three categories at the state convention. Their Buddy Walk won Brain Related Disorders; Hometown Heroes won Patriotism; and the goodie basket placed at the Stanley House won Pick-Me-Ups. The club is one of the smallest in their competition division, and they competed against clubs nearly twice their size (from Orlando, Jacksonville, and Miami). We are SO PROUD of our Anchors!
Congratulations on these amazing accomplishments, Braves!

5th grade students at WDE constructed electromagnets . An electromagnet is a device in which current produces magnetism. Students observed that electricity can make a magnet, and a magnet can make electricity. Electricity and magnets are related, and one can produce the other.

The WCSD Facilities Department held a district-wide Custodial Training & Expo in January 2018 at the WISE Center for all custodians and plant managers. Guest speakers, trainers, and janitorial supply vendors all participated to educate employees on topics such as health / job safety, proper cleaning techniques, and equipment use. Four educational training sessions were held to deliver this information to employees. After the training, lunch was provided for everyone and donated door prizes were given away. Participants enjoyed the training and are looking forward to the next training event.

The sun didn't set without Stingrays representing us WELL at their meet this past Friday. Both boys and girls finished 2nd out of 25 teams at the Big Bend Showdown in Tallahassee. We are so proud to watch these students compete and work together as a team, supporting each other on and off campus, demonstrating that both academic and athletic success can go hand-in-hand! Stingray shout out and gratitude to our coaches, The Parkers! CONGRATULATIONS Stingrays!
