WDE Receives STEM Grant

On Tuesday, December 6th, April Gray from the Emerald Coast Post of the Society of American Military Engineers presented Mrs. Tammy Goodman, Media Specialist and Mrs. Darlene Paul, Principal of West DeFuniak Elementary with a check in the amount of $897.00.  The grant is for STEM related books for the media center and for 3 Sphero programmable robots.  Mrs. Goodman was one of 9 educators to be a 2016 award recipient out of 46 applicants for the grant.  WDE is thrilled to have these new resources to use with their students.
Kim Kirby on behalf of the board of directors of Grit and Grace, Inc. presented copies of the book, Down by the Riverside, written by Ronnie McBrayer and based on their 2017 production.

We take a moment here to recognize our ECMS bus drivers and thank them for the wonderful job they perform in safely transporting our ECMS students to and from school every day!  We are lucky to have such wonderful bus drivers at ECMS and appreciate them very much.

Triangle Chevrolet-Buick, Inc. donated $1,200.00 to Emerald Coast Technical College for Automotive Service Technology Program student scholarships.

Parents and Wise Pre-K students enjoyed "Books and Breakfast" with Dr. Adams. After breakfast, Dr. Adams discussed the importance of reading daily to children and shared a fun book. Then students were allowed to choose a book to take home. Submitted by Debbie McBroom.

The Algebra Nation Math tutor Chelsea Jones came to visit Mrs. Meyer’s 7th period class at Freeport High School. They made videos and posters to thank Governor Scott for funding the program. Submitted by Patty Woodard.
